Bye bye Georgie

It’s been a funny old week, still waiting on some drainage bits and pieces so that’s a job we wont be able to complete before we head back to Wales. We’ve been busy taking the second out house appart though and getting everything in order so that we come back to a nice tidy site in a weeks’ time. We both went out on the Shearwater to take Soay their post yesterday, although we didn’t see any ‘out of the norm’ wildlife it was the perfect day for it and we had a good time.

Wednesday saw our favourite New Zealander and best voluntary labourer Georgie leave the island and head back to NZ. Georgie has come to be a good friend to us since we started visiting Rum a few years back and has been a big part of what we love about the place. We’re not alone in saying we’ll miss her loads, I’m not sure it will be the same without her.  I have a feeling it might be a lot quiter…It’s been a pretty sad week, so we’re off to sunny (!!) Wales to cheer up –  so back to the blog in a week’s time. Bonza (or is that sweet as?)

  1. Georgie – Quite a character and I wish her all the best and future happiness. Shall miss her chuckle when next across.

She was a good person, along with Ali to work with when doing the rum website.

    • Hi George,

Big loss for Rum although I think Georgie will keep one eye on Rum from NZ…
